Hello, my name is Tricia

Nice to meet you. A little about me… I am the author of a continuing collection of strange thoughts, some of which I have committed to (arguably) coherent written forms, and some of which you will find on this site. I’m a a civil servant by day and writer by night. I graduated with my MFA in Creative Writing & Poetics from the University of Washington Bothell. I have a problem with run-on sentences – a problem which I am unwilling to give up. Like my beloved late father, I was born and raised in Seattle. Like my Cuban mother and four Cuban aunties, I am filled with strong opinions in both English and Spanish and will gladly share them with you (whether you care to hear them or not). I am the second of six (*actually, seven) children and a mother to three gorgeous and uniquely talented kids of my own. I am a lover of coffee, cats, and family. When not working for the man or writing for myself, you will often find me lazing in front of the TV with my tall and handsome partner.

Passion of the Stomata by Tricia Fuentes I dreamt it was summer and I swam down a stream to an inlet where I swallowed mouthfuls of sweet cinnamon desire, my body dissolving into droplets of energy. I evaporated slowly, floating upwards through the trees, ignoring the thirsty calls from the leaves and I searched the… Read more
